Spring Swing

Hey gals!  As the spring months approach we start to shop for spring clothes and other things.  Today I will be sharing spring fashion trends.

~ Spring clothing shopping is one of my favorite things to do because it gets me in the warm weather mode!

1. Color is important when it comes to clothing. We wear dark colors in the winter and lighter colors in the spring/summer.  Many of the colors for this spring are bright and soft colors.

Women of the Bible

Hey all!  I am very excited to introduce a new Bible study I will be doing.  For the next few months I will be doing devotion on the ladies of the Bible.  There are many amazing ladies from the Bible that did great things, but we might not have studied or heard about them very often.  All of these ladies had great attributes that I will be talking about.

Here are some of the attributes:

Scrumptious Chocolate Chip Cookies

Deserts are a favorite in my home.  Chocolate chip cookies can be used for a casual or fancy desert. These cookies are soft and they have a delicious taste.

Scrumptious Chocolate Chip Cookies

2/3 C. shortening

2/3 C. softened margarine 

1 C. sugar

1 C. brown sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

3 C. flour

12 oz. bag of chocolate chips

~ Cream and Mix all of the ingredients with a mixer, except the flour.  Slowly add the flour.  May need to mix last cup of flour in with spoon.  Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes.  Enjoy! 

The Black Dress

Hey everyone!  This is my first outfit post!  One of my hobbies is picking out random clothes and styling cute outfits.

The Dress

I found this very simple, fitted black dress at Old Navy.  This dress was on the stores sale rack.  I love this dress because it is a soft, stretchable, and very comfortable.  A plain black dress can be styled with many different accessories, which can create many different outfits.s

Vibrant Pizazz

To spruce up the the simple black dress you can add dazzling jewelry, a classy scarf,  a chic cardigan or jacket, or a vibrant belt.  When you add accessories to outfits, it is important to add colors that blend together.  When styling outfits you can also add many different types of shoes.  Such as heels, flats, sandals, or boots, depending on the season.  For my outfit I added a vibrant coral belt and a sparkly coral scarf.  I found the coral scarf at Vanity.  I spotted the belt at Walmart.  I chose to wear silver shoes that matched the silver speckles in the scarf and belt.

Scent of Coziness 

For the last outfit, but certainly not least, I decided to go for more of a chilly weather look.  I simply paired a long knit sweater over the dress.  I found the sweater at Old Navy.  Next for color I added a green scarf, which is from Shopko.  Adding colorful accessories to outfits really makes the outfit look more attractive to the eye.  I also paired plain black boots to the dress.  Along with all of the outfits I paired silver earrings.  You can add any jewelry to outfits to ornate your creation.

There are countless ways to add radiance to a simple black dress, the creations I shared were two of my favorites!  It is incredibly fun to be creative with outfits and adorn them with many different accessories!
